Hey guys, I realize this is probably just students looking at this now…. so I’m letting you know that the last batch of pics from Thursday night is now uploaded. I may add a few more videos later, but we’ll have to see.
I’ll try to post some video footage before we leave in the morning, but it’s after 2am….so we’ll see. Another BNYC Momentum has come to a close….and it will be good to come home. See you tonight!
Hey parents,
Just to let you know again, we’re planning on leaving at 7am tomorrow morning. We’re hoping for minimal stops….(I won’t hold my breath). That means that we should pull into the church between 11-12. We’ll pass cell phones around.
In one hour we head to our last main session. That will be followed by our last youth group time and then our final session at 9pm (10pm Indiana). Please pray for us tonight!
Tim
Hey this is Michael Trier
I have been a part of the Project Manager team for the past week and things are going great.
God has been really encouraging. Everyone is thankful for your prayers, and I hope things are going well at home.
Hey this is joey,
We’ve been doing some cool stuff. We picked up trash on the road in Hattiesburg. It was pretty trashy so we got a lot of work done.
this is jeremy,
we’ve been doing alot this week. we have really been doing alot to serve God. one of the things we did today is pick up trash in hattiesburg for the blitz. we basically went along the highway picked up trash. i have been doing a lot, like going to a power trax today. in it we were able to question two people from india and one person from vietnam. it was really interesting. the thing i have learned alot this week. probaly the most important thing is do you really believe something is going to happen and you’re not praying just because you want to. it’s also been encouraging to see how God is working in gulfport to rebuild people’s houses and then let us be able to talk to them about God. Monday when we went to pearlington we were able to love on some kids that lost their houses. down there as we were coming back to the campus we saw alot of devastation. there were alot of square pieces of concrete in the ground. i found out later all those concrete blocks used to be houses. well we are starting the night sesion so i gotta go.
Hey parents, Nick Deck here, I just wanted to let you know that your kids have been Great! We have been having a wonderful time and it’s so awesome to see God working in their lives and through them. Thank you all so much for giving us the chance to take them to Momentum (previously known as BNYC [previously known as Camp Bethany (previously known as Ed Lewis Week with the Dinosaurs)]). Please continue to pray that our hearts will be open to God for the remainder of our time here.
Hey mom, this is John Hocking, we had a great day. We went out into the community and picked up trash on the side of the road. We didn’t really see many people but one lady was really happy we were there doing something. She seemed to be kind of annoyed that it was so dirty. It was cool to be able to pick up trash there. There were a lot of beer bottles. I started praying for the community as i walked and i felt really good about being there. I know that i didn’t have any effect on anyone personally, but i know i helped the community, and i am very glad i am here. love you mom–john
Uhm…hi mom and dad (who are here with me)…just wanted to give you all a link to our speaker this morning (Josh Finklea)
Not sure who knows, but
YES, our bus is fixed. We’ll be leaving 7am MS time on Friday morning.
YES, we were able to go out on the blitz today (lots of picking up trash…I’ll let other people tell you about it),
and YES, Jason is ok.
We’ll update some more tonight. In the meantime, you can check out a few pics of today on the pics page.
hey everyone this is Emily Tuggle. This week so far has been absolutely amazing in soooo many ways! I have been learning alot but the biggest thing i have been learning is how to be content with who i am and where i am. I realize that God has made me exactly who he wanted me so it really doesn’t matter what anyone else says about me. He loves me for me! Also just realizing that he has giving me many opportunities back at home. I don’t have to travel to another place to find people to share my faith with. Well i hope all of you have wonderful day!! God Bless
Soooooooo
Tuesday. A lot of big things happened. Maybe not as big as Graham calling me cool, but still big. Like massive.
Like super duper big.
I wish I had more time, but apparently Tim was compelled to make us leave right now.
The service was awesome. Morning and Evening, and a lot of seemingly meaningless things all contributed to helping me figure out how to configure my heart to what God wants, and not to earthly things, that even try to affect me here.
God helped all of us, and one of the coolest times ever this week was seeing Krysta talk to Eric, cause we like never see him. (Maryland isn’t as cool as Warsaw…) and it was awesome because it really deeply affected her. And seeing her filled with God is helping me see her differently, and my attitude has definitely changed about so many things.
And do we really have to be 16 to go on the Blitz? It’s my first year and I wanted to help.
It’s only a freakin busy highway. I can play in traffic like the big boys too.
~JP
editor’s note: it’s not necessarily a “freakin busy highway”, and we are all going on the blitz.

Cori Catron:
Today when my the group went to help out after the confusion of gulf port or pearlington, we had an excellent chance to help an older lady by building her a house, under the guidance of Tom. One of the coolest things that I got to do there was to spend time with some of the neighborhood kids that needed some older people to spend time with them. Probably, the coolest thing for me to do with them was to play football with them while they competed against each other for fun. The joy was just amazing. The kids spirits were both refreshing mentally with the stress, and also physically with the heat. It was just a great day in all.
yesterday I was in the session and Francis Chan said something about being lukewarm for God. I said to myself “hey I think I’ve been lukewarm for God. I want to be on fire for God. I then went down to the stage to rededicate my life to God. And since i have done this I have seen a BIG improvement in my life. I can really understand what God has been talking about now. I can read the Bible and I know what it means. And then today we went out to the buses and our bus was broken. We prayed and we got an empty bus. We were supposed to go to Gulf Port but we went to Pearlington. Then when we got there we had to many people and so we had a lot of standing to do. That was kinda discouraging. But then some of the local kids came up to us so we had something to do. They were really uplifting. –Jordan
Hey it’s Krysta Miller here. Wow. A lot has happened in this amazing day that God has given us. Today was our workday and we had it all planned out to go to Gulfport but they told us that our bus was broken. So we did TAP which is an acronym for Turn and Pray. My group prayed that God would be able to use us no matter if we went to Gulfport or not. As we waited for about fifteen more minutes, we were told that we would be going to Pearlington instead. Which I was so excited about because I knew that we would be able to see the homeowner. When we arrived there we got to meet her. I won’t try to even spell her name but she was the most encouraging lady. She told us later as some of the girls went to talk to her that even though some of her neighbors had drowned in “the storm” (what they like to call it) she knew that God was still with her and with all 9 of her children and her grandkids and great grandkids. It was a very uplifting day and it was truly by God’s grace that we were able to go and help rebuild homes. But not just homes, hearts as well. Hallelujah, our God reigns!
Hey this Simone Kranzman God has done amazing things today through our group. today we were suppose to go to Gulf Port but they told us that our bus broke down. So we prayed in groups about just find a bus and if we didn’t god will find something else something for us to do. So we finally got a bus and ended up going to Pearlington. So the family we were helping was so happy there were 4 children there. They were racing and getting piggy back rides and just listening to what god has done for them. So God was so amazing to take us to Pearlington to help us build homes and our hearts. So yeah god is so amazing…
Hello all! What a lesson in answered prayer and flexibility…but I’ll let students update about that more later tonight at youth group time. We had a great day…are tired and thirsty…and were able to see some work accomplished in…….Pearlington! We were supposed to go to Gulfport, but ended up at Pearlington working on new houses.
We’re getting ready to head to session in 45 minutes. Shawn McBride is our speaker tonight (Francis Chan is done for the week). If any of you use itunes I’d suggest getting Steve Fee’s CD ‘Burn for You’ because we’ve enjoyed him a lot as a worship leader.
We’ll update more later and then dump on a TON of pictures from the day.

Due to extenuating circumstances, we have been unable to participate in our water polo tournament today. We think they are intimidated by the fact that there are 3 WLGBC water polo teams competing against one from Maryland. Maybe the team name “floaties” has something to do with it. However, it has not been all splish and splash here at momentum. “The Reds” have been dominating the basketball court led by Dr. Matt Christy with fellow play-makers Jeremy Lehman and Cory “the flash” Catron.
In other news, when we’re not playing water polo, basketball or dutch blitz, we attend the regular sessions. Ashton (aka Laura) says, “good ole Franzy pants has been teaching us about Jeeezus.” As usual, Francis Chan has kept us laughing and thinking about heart piercing issues, such as getting off our bums and getting in the game, known as life. We also had the chance to soak up even more during our sponge sessions where we got to choose our own adventure. From 10 spiritual habits to worship and leadership, we expanded our knowledge in these areas.
We have all been concentrating on adequately hydrating for our big day tomorrow where we will be hammerin’ down on some homes. That’s all for now folks!
~ The Blogettes~
Well, we’re done with Saturday and are getting ready for bed. Hopefully we’ll have some students update tomorrow about what happened today.
In a nutshell: Francis Chan spoke tonight after Steve Fee led in worship. After that it was off to dorm meetings and then counselor groups.
Some new pictures are up on the flickr account on the left side …the ones of the girls are from last night…apparently Dutch Blitz has been a very popular game!
Also, the easiest way to look at the pictures may be to go to the DAILY PICS tab located up under the banner…I’ve just changed it to make it easier…and we’ll get better pics up tomorrow…promise.
Also, two new videos down to the left…one of about a minute of footage from our session tonight (you can see the OB choir singing at the end)…and one of Dan Remington.
Keep praying!
