Cori Catron:
Today when my the group went to help out after the confusion of gulf port or pearlington, we had an excellent chance to help an older lady by building her a house, under the guidance of Tom. One of the coolest things that I got to do there was to spend time with some of the neighborhood kids that needed some older people to spend time with them. Probably, the coolest thing for me to do with them was to play football with them while they competed against each other for fun. The joy was just amazing. The kids spirits were both refreshing mentally with the stress, and also physically with the heat. It was just a great day in all.
yesterday I was in the session and Francis Chan said something about being lukewarm for God. I said to myself “hey I think I’ve been lukewarm for God. I want to be on fire for God. I then went down to the stage to rededicate my life to God. And since i have done this I have seen a BIG improvement in my life. I can really understand what God has been talking about now. I can read the Bible and I know what it means. And then today we went out to the buses and our bus was broken. We prayed and we got an empty bus. We were supposed to go to Gulf Port but we went to Pearlington. Then when we got there we had to many people and so we had a lot of standing to do. That was kinda discouraging. But then some of the local kids came up to us so we had something to do. They were really uplifting. –Jordan
Hey it’s Krysta Miller here. Wow. A lot has happened in this amazing day that God has given us. Today was our workday and we had it all planned out to go to Gulfport but they told us that our bus was broken. So we did TAP which is an acronym for Turn and Pray. My group prayed that God would be able to use us no matter if we went to Gulfport or not. As we waited for about fifteen more minutes, we were told that we would be going to Pearlington instead. Which I was so excited about because I knew that we would be able to see the homeowner. When we arrived there we got to meet her. I won’t try to even spell her name but she was the most encouraging lady. She told us later as some of the girls went to talk to her that even though some of her neighbors had drowned in “the storm” (what they like to call it) she knew that God was still with her and with all 9 of her children and her grandkids and great grandkids. It was a very uplifting day and it was truly by God’s grace that we were able to go and help rebuild homes. But not just homes, hearts as well. Hallelujah, our God reigns!
Hey this Simone Kranzman God has done amazing things today through our group. today we were suppose to go to Gulf Port but they told us that our bus broke down. So we prayed in groups about just find a bus and if we didn’t god will find something else something for us to do. So we finally got a bus and ended up going to Pearlington. So the family we were helping was so happy there were 4 children there. They were racing and getting piggy back rides and just listening to what god has done for them. So God was so amazing to take us to Pearlington to help us build homes and our hearts. So yeah god is so amazing…
